What Is Hospital Administration?
Hospital administration is the management of a healthcare facility from the inside. It covers daily operations, human resources, financial planning, patient services, supply chain, regulatory compliance, and the coordination of every department that keeps a hospital running.
A hospital administrator does not treat patients. Their job is to make sure the people who do can work without interruption, that resources are in place when needed, and that the facility meets the standards expected by patients, staff, and regulators. In large hospitals, this is a team of specialists. In smaller clinics, a single trained administrator often handles all of it.
India's healthcare sector is one of the largest employers in the country and is growing rapidly. The demand for trained hospital administrators has increased significantly as more private hospital chains, specialty clinics, and wellness centres open across Kerala and other states.
